CONCOURSE / CONCOURSE VILLAGE

Concourse is a neighborhood in the South Bronx. The neighborhood is now mainly Dominican with a significant longstanding Puerto Rican and African American population. Many of its residents live below the poverty line.

The neighborhood of Concourse Village is a subsection of Concourse. This area is home to the famous Yankee Stadium. From 1923 through 2008, it served as the home baseball park for the New York Yankees, one of the most successful baseball teams in the world. A new Yankee Stadium, across the street, north of the previous Yankee Stadium, is currently under construction.
