BROAD CHANNEL

Broad Channel is the only inhabited island in Jamaica Bay in southern Queens. The small neighborhood is a very quiet place far away from the city. Once just a fishing station, Broad Channel has evolved into a small community of more than 3000 residents. Because of the water canals it is sometimes referred to as “the Venice of New York”. Broad Channel has its own subway station and is served by the A-Train, which runs elevated between the Rockaways and mainland Queens.
