Financial
District is a neighborhood at
the southern tip of Manhattan which comprises the offices
and headquarters of many of the city's major financial
institutions. New York Stock Exchange and the offices of Dow
Jones are also located in the Financial District. The most
famous street there is Wall Street, which is a symbol for
money and economy worldwide. Other important streets are
Nassau and Broad Street.
There are many
skyscrapers in the neighborhood and they form the southern
skyline of Manhattan. Former World Trade Center was located
in the Financial District, today they are planning to build
an even taller building on Ground Zero called the Freedom
Tower and a memorial for those who have been killed on
September 11, 2001.
